Samantha Owens, Star Ratings & Personal Finance Analytics Manager at Moneyfacts, said:

“With the squeeze on personal finances showing no signs of abating, ensuring pets get the best care possible should the worst happen, and for the most competitive price, is a priority. The costs for treatment can easily escalate and pet insurance can protect the customer from a financial shock should their pet need medical attention.

“However, there are currently hundreds of products in the market offering a range of benefits from just accident to more comprehensive cover. Being able to narrow down the best policy for each pet can prove challenging but the Moneyfacts Annual Star Ratings for pet insurance can take away some of this work. They help the customer filter down to the best products within their budget, with the assurance that the products with the highest rating highlight the most comprehensive products with the most competitive limits.”
