Samantha Owens, Star Ratings and Personal Finance Analytics Manager at Moneyfacts, said:

“The Moneyfacts Annual Star Ratings for home insurance, home emergency and landlord home insurance cover look at all the product features available and rate them based on the levels of cover available, along with the most comprehensive range of features. This allows customers searching for the best product to focus their attention on those that stand out from the rest of the market, making tailoring their search easier.

“With people watching every penny, cutting back on insurance may seem an easy way to cut costs but ensuring your home and possessions are covered if the worst happens is now more essential than ever, when access to emergency funds is increasingly limited.

“Landlords are also facing their own challenges and the star ratings allow them to focus on those policies that will give them the greatest level of cover, should they encounter problems while letting out a property.”
