A stellar year for Moneyfacts SIPP and SSAS Star Ratings 2026

Moneyfacts is pleased to announce the Moneyfacts Annual Star Ratings 2026 for the SIPP and SSAS arena.

  • For self-invested personal pensions, there were 21 Five-Star, 13 Four-Star and 11 Three-Star Ratings.
  • For small self-administered schemes, there were eight Five-Star, eight Four-Star and four Three-Star Ratings awarded.
  • The number of small self-administered schemes available for assessment has fallen slightly year-on-year to 26 with the number of self-invested personal pension products also falling, to 56.
  • More than 40 fields of information per individual product were collected for assessment.

The products awarded Five-, Four- or Three Star Ratings offer the most comprehensive range of standout features and competitive charges, which set them apart from the rest of the market.

Moneyfacts has been analysing data for more than 35 years, with the instantly recognisable Moneyfacts badge of quality helping inform consumers when comparing SIPP and SSAS products.

Nine out of 10 people agree that a Star Rating from an independent and impartial company could influence their decision in considering taking out a Financial Services product.* (*Source: Moneyfacts Group Plc, Financial Services online consumer survey 2/25).

Lee Tillcock, Managing Editor of Investment Life and Pensions Moneyfactssaid:

“Regularly in the headlines amid regulatory changes, the Government and regulators are encouraging investment and moving towards a less risk-averse approach which has potential to reshape how SIPP and SSAS providers think about their future offerings. There is certainly a diverse range of SIPP and SSAS products that individuals can select from, making comparisons potentially complex, and the Moneyfacts Annual SIPP and SSAS Star Ratings highlight the companies that offer the schemes with the most flexibility and extensive range of features and competitive charges, helping consumers to direct their focus when considering their options.

“The Moneyfacts Annual SIPP and SSAS Star Ratings concentrate on the individual features of a product that consumers will come across when going through the decision-making process. The ratings therefore provide consumers with an extra seal of approval, which should give them the added assurance that they have found a high-quality product for their retirement needs.”

James Randall, Associate Director at I.P.M SIPP Administration Limited, said:

“We are delighted to receive a Five-Star product rating from Moneyfacts for a 10th year in a row; this a testament to the work our team puts in on a day-to-day basis to provide the highest level of personal service to our advisers and clients.

“In a market where assessments and due diligence on SIPP providers is regularly carried out, consistently receiving the highest possible rating from Moneyfacts, whose assessment covers a wide range of factors, helps to build confidence and reassurance in the IPM offering.”
